The Mona Lisa was painted by the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci in 1503 and was finished about three or four years later. The oil painting on wood is the worlds most famous painting. The painting has a beautiful backround with moutians, streames, feilds, and a small little wooden bridge. A lady in the center of the painting is sitting on a balcony. Some say that the woman posing for the Mona Lisa is Francesco del Giocaonda. However, nobody really knows who she is. On her head their is a small thin vail and is wearing dark black clothing. She looks like she is keeping a secret. That little smile on her face makes her look mysterious and her eyes are looking at something to the side that isn't visible to vewiers, which is also mysterious. The Mona Lisa is a mysterious but beautiful painting.
